Animation & VFX Career Roadmap
Enter through a hands-on tools bootcamp, then branch into cinematic Animation & VFX or Game Art & Design — or take a faster, cheaper entry via Video Editing, After Effects, or Premiere Pro.
How to read this roadmap: The 3D & VFX Tools Bootcamp is the recommended entry, branching into Animation & VFX (film/VFX focus) or Game Art & Design (game industry focus). Video Editing, After Effects, and Premiere Pro sit alongside as faster, cheaper standalone entry points if you want quicker results.

Frequently asked questions
Should I start with the 3D & VFX Tools Bootcamp or a specialisation directly?
The bootcamp is the recommended entry point — it builds Blender/Maya/Unreal fundamentals before you commit to the longer Animation & VFX or Game Art & Design programmes.
What is the difference between Animation & VFX and Game Art & Design?
Animation & VFX targets film/VFX pipelines — concept art through compositing, ending in a demo reel. Game Art & Design targets the game industry — 3D assets, digital sculpting, and a playable 2D/3D game project.
I just want to edit videos quickly — do I need the full roadmap?
No — Video Editing (5 months), Adobe After Effects (2 months), and Adobe Premiere Pro (2 months) are standalone, faster, cheaper entry points if your goal is content creation or motion graphics rather than a full VFX/animation career. Premiere Pro is the more focused choice if you specifically want editing, colour grading, and Reels/YouTube skills without the AI-tools breadth of the full Video Editing course.
What software will I learn in Animation & VFX?
Maya, Substance Painter, Houdini, and Nuke, on top of the Blender/Maya/Unreal fundamentals from the bootcamp.
Do these courses end with a portfolio?
Yes — Animation & VFX ends in a demo reel, and Game Art & Design ends with a 2D game project plus 3D assets, both portfolio-ready.
