Animation & VFX Course for Tarn Taran Students — MITS Academy 2026
Tarn Taran does not have a dedicated animation or VFX training institute, so students interested in this field look to Amritsar — about 25 km away via Tarn Taran Road, roughly a 40-minute drive or bus ride. MITS Academy's Amritsar centre (2nd Floor, SRK Mall, Mall Road, above Passport Office, Kennedy Avenue) runs a full 7-month Animation & VFX programme covering the industry pipeline from concept art through compositing.
The Amritsar centre teaches the same curriculum used by our other batches: Concept Art, 3D Modelling, Rigging, Animation, and Compositing, using industry-standard software — Maya, Substance Painter, Houdini, and Nuke. For a creative-technical field like this, in-person studio access and lab time matter, so most Tarn Taran students plan around a weekend or fixed-days commute rather than treating this as a remote-first course.
This page focuses on what a Tarn Taran student specifically needs to know: the actual commute, how the batch schedule works around travel, and where to find full curriculum and fee details. For the complete syllabus, month-by-month breakdown, and fee table, see the main Animation & VFX programme page.
Why Tarn Taran students choose MITS Academy
4 ways Tarn Taran students access MITS
Pick the format that fits your schedule.
Weekend batch (most popular for Tarn Taran)
Saturday + Sunday sessions at the Amritsar centre. Buses run every 20 minutes from Tarn Taran bus stand (₹30–45, 35–40 min) — students typically travel down both weekend days for lab and software access.
Fixed weekday batch with travel plan
For students who can commit to a regular weekday schedule, morning or evening batches work with the Tarn Taran–Amritsar bus service. Hands-on software time (Maya, Houdini) benefits from consistent in-person attendance.
One-time software setup + self-practice
Some students attend in-person for software installation, setup, and each new pipeline stage kickoff, then practise assignments at home between sessions.

Frequently asked questions
Is there an animation institute in Tarn Taran itself?
No. Tarn Taran does not currently have a dedicated animation or VFX training institute. MITS Academy Amritsar, about 25 km away via Tarn Taran Road, is the nearest option with a full pipeline curriculum and industry software (Maya, Substance Painter, Houdini, Nuke).
Can the Animation & VFX course be done remotely from Tarn Taran?
Because this course involves heavy software work (Maya, Houdini, Nuke) and hands-on lab time, most Tarn Taran students find a weekend or fixed-day commute to the Amritsar centre works better than a fully remote format. The 25 km distance and 35–40 minute bus ride make this manageable for most students.
