How to Choose an IT Institute in Ludhiana 2026 — An Honest Checklist

MITS Faculty 8 min read

Ludhiana has several IT training options now. Here's a practical, unbiased checklist for evaluating any institute — including MITS Academy — before you pay fees anywhere.

Ludhiana students now have more IT training options than a few years ago — alongside newer entrants like MITS Academy's Model Town centre, the city has established institutes covering various specializations. Rather than comparing institutes feature-by-feature (which dates quickly and reads as a sales pitch either way), here's a practical checklist you can apply to any institute you're evaluating, including us.

1. Ask to see the actual day-by-day syllabus, not a one-line course description

"Learn Python" or "Master Digital Marketing" tells you nothing. Ask for a week-by-week or module-by-module breakdown. A serious institute will have this ready; one relying on vague marketing often doesn't.

2. Ask what you'll actually have at the end — projects, not just a certificate

A certificate alone rarely gets anyone hired. Ask specifically: "What real, demonstrable projects will I have finished by the end?" If the answer is vague, that's a signal the course is light on practical depth.

3. Ask about batch size

Small batches (MITS Academy caps at 20) allow actual individual attention. A 50-60 student "batch" is effectively a lecture, not training — ask directly, and if possible, sit in on an actual class rather than taking the number at face value.

4. Ask for a free trial/demo class — and actually attend it

Any institute confident in its teaching quality should offer this without hesitation. MITS Academy runs a free demo every Saturday at the Model Town centre specifically so prospective students can evaluate before paying. If an institute is reluctant to let you observe a real class first, that's worth noting.

ISO 9001:2015, MSME recognition, Startup India recognition — these are real, verifiable certifications. Any institute claiming them should be able to show you the certificate, not just display a badge image on their website.

6. Ask about placement support specifics, not just "100% placement" claims

Ask: How many hiring partners? What's the actual process (resume help, mock interviews, direct referrals)? Can you see examples of past placements (without requiring the institute to reveal names it shouldn't)? Be especially skeptical of any guaranteed salary figure — no responsible institute can promise a specific number for every student.

7. Check how long the institute has actually operated, and where

A newly opened centre isn't automatically bad — but it's honest to know whether you're the test batch or the 500th batch. For transparency's sake: MITS Academy's Model Town, Ludhiana centre opened in September 2026, its newest of three Punjab locations, after Amritsar (since 2014) and Jalandhar. It runs the identical curriculum and faculty standards as those older centres, but doesn't yet have its own multi-year Ludhiana-specific placement or review history — ask any institute you're evaluating this same question.

8. Check Google reviews — and be skeptical of ones that seem inflated or missing entirely

Amritsar's MITS Academy centre has 4.7★ from 1,038 reviews; Jalandhar has 5.0★ from 184. The Ludhiana centre, being new, has no review history yet — we're not going to pretend otherwise or list a fabricated number. Apply the same scrutiny to any institute you're considering: a suspiciously high rating with very few reviews, or reviews that all sound identical, are red flags worth investigating.

9. Ask about fee transparency and EMI terms in writing

Get the full fee breakdown and any EMI terms in writing before paying anything, including whether the quoted fee is inclusive of GST, materials, or certification costs.

10. Trust the demo class more than any marketing material — including this one

At the end of the day, the most honest way to evaluate fit is sitting in an actual class, talking to current students if possible, and judging for yourself — not relying entirely on any institute's self-description.

Applying this checklist to MITS Academy specifically

  • •Day-by-day syllabus: available for every course, including the detailed breakdowns on individual course pages
  • •Real projects: yes, specified per course (e.g., 3 GitHub-ready Python projects, full-stack capstone builds)
  • •Batch size: capped at 20
  • •Free demo: every Saturday at Model Town
  • •Certifications: ISO 9001:2015, MSME, Startup India recognized
  • •Track record: 12 years (since 2014), 5,000+ trained, 2,000+ placed — at the Amritsar/Jalandhar centres; Ludhiana-specific numbers will build over time
  • •Reviews: 4.7★/1,038 (Amritsar), 5.0★/184 (Jalandhar), none yet for Ludhiana

FAQs

Is it bad to choose a newly opened centre like MITS Academy Ludhiana? Not inherently — what matters is whether the curriculum and faculty standards are inherited from an institute with a real track record elsewhere, which is the case here, rather than an entirely unproven new operation.

Should I avoid any institute that doesn't offer a free demo? It's at minimum a reason to ask why, and to weigh it against the rest of the checklist.
