Graphic Design & Motion Graphics Course in Amritsar & Jalandhar 2026 — Fees & Curriculum

MITS Faculty 7 min read

Static design isn't enough anymore — here's what a combined graphic design and motion graphics course covers, and why branding + video skills together make you more hireable.

Most graphic design courses in Punjab stop at static visuals — logos, posters, social media posts. But the actual job market for designers increasingly expects at least basic motion graphics and video editing skills too, since every brand now needs Instagram Reels, YouTube intros, and short promotional videos alongside their static branding. This guide covers MITS Academy's Graphic Design & Motion Graphics course, which is built around that combined skill set.

Why combine design and motion into one course?

Think about what a small business or agency in Amritsar or Jalandhar actually needs from a hire: someone who can design a logo *and* animate it for an Instagram Reel; someone who can build a social media campaign *and* edit the accompanying video content. Splitting these into two separate skill sets means students often graduate only half-equipped for what employers actually ask for.

What the 6-month curriculum covers

  • Month 1 — Visual Design Foundations: Colour theory, typography, copyright/design ethics, and digital illustration basics in Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Month 2 — Branding & Illustration: Vector illustration, logo design, brand identity systems, and an introduction to AI-assisted design workflows.
  • Month 3 — Social & Digital Design: Designing cohesive systems for social media, and rapid-design workflows in Canva.
  • Month 4 — Motion Foundations: Cinematography basics, cinematic editing in Premiere Pro, and 2D motion graphics fundamentals in After Effects.
  • Month 5 — Advanced Motion Graphics: Advanced animation techniques, colour grading, and short-form video for reels and ads.
  • Month 6 — Capstone & Career Prep: A final capstone project — a complete brand campaign combining identity design, social assets, and a finished motion graphics video — plus freelancing basics and interview prep.

The tools you'll actually use

The full Adobe Creative Cloud workflow — Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects, and Premiere Pro — alongside Canva for rapid design work and AI-assisted design tools throughout.

What this looks like on a resume

By the end, you'll have a brand identity kit, a multi-piece social media campaign, a short motion graphics reel, and a final capstone brand campaign combining all of it — a portfolio that shows both static design range and motion capability, which is genuinely rarer than either skill alone.

Career paths

Graphic Designer, Digital Illustrator, Motion Graphics Artist, Social Media Designer, or Video Editor roles at agencies, in-house marketing teams, or as a freelancer. Many students pair this with MITS's Digital Marketing course for a stronger freelance offering — design plus the ability to actually run the campaigns you're designing for.
